THE JONAS AND ANNE CATHARINE GREEN HOUSE

124 Charles Street Annapolis, MD 21401

My parents bought a one of kind, historic home on Charles Street in Annapolis two years ago. Since then, they have updated certain areas including interior and exterior paint colors, kitchen cabinets and appliances, flooring, light fixtures, bathrooms, etc. A powder room was created on the first floor within the large pantry space. I love the addition of plantation shutters throughout the home, but my personal favorite transformation was the decision to paint the second floor white! The choice to paint the floors white was made because they were painted brown and it would have been very expensive and impractical to strip the floors of color.

During the process of refurbishing and making sure everything was safe and in working order, it was also extremely important to my mother and father to maintain the character and charm. Preserving the history that the Jonas Green House embodies and recognizing the many generations(4) of the same family prior to their purchase, made this unique home that much more precious and surreal.

This past week, their beautiful property in the heart of the Historic District, was featured in the Capital Gazette as “house of the week”. Also, the latest improvement made on the home, the garden, will be recognized during the Secret Garden Tour on June 2nd and 3rd from 12-5pm. Tickets are on sale and more info can be found here. Read more and watch a video here, walking you through the changes made by the new owners, Jimmy and Peggy Jacobs:)

Historic properties are a true passion of mine and it’s one of many things I love most about selling real estate in Annapolis, Maryland. Give me a call if I can assist you with an Annapolis area property. It would be my absolute pleasure to help you.
